About the Role
We’re looking for resourceful, empathetic, and customer-focused Sales Associates who can work independently while also thriving as part of a collaborative team. This role requires someone who can confidently juggle multiple priorities, communicate clearly, and deliver exceptional service to both members (our artisans) and customers.

Key Responsibilities
Member Onboarding & Support
- Welcome and onboard new members, helping them feel confident and supported.
- Learn about members’ backgrounds, products, and stories.
- Assist with merchandising, product setup, restocks, and move-ins/outs.
- Stay up to date on Artisan MRKT policies, services, and events.
- Provide in-store and email support to help members succeed.
- Resolve issues professionally, empathetically, and in a timely manner.
Sales & Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service to every visitor.
- Engage customers through conversation, storytelling, and product knowledge.
- Educate shoppers about our members and their creations.
- Use upselling and cross-selling techniques when appropriate.
- Build relationships that encourage repeat visits and brand loyalty.
Showcasing Our Members
- Confidently share members’ stories and products with customers.
- Support in-store promotions and social media visibility.
- Represent Artisan MRKT with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
Sales & Transactions
- Operate the POS system accurately and efficiently.
- Process transactions smoothly and confidently.
Store Standards & Operations
- Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing displays.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks (mopping, vacuuming, washroom upkeep).
- Support seasonal storefront maintenance (window cleaning, snow shoveling, etc..).
- Follow brand standards to ensure a welcoming environment.

You are:
- Resourceful and proactive
- Able to work independently while collaborating with a team
- A strong communicator (verbal and written)
- Comfortable juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Empathetic, patient, and solutions-oriented
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service to both members and customers
- Genuinely enthusiastic about Canadian small businesses
Must-Haves
- 1+ year experience in retail, sales, or customer service
- Comfortable using social media (especially Instagram posts & reels)
- Ability to work weekday mornings, evenings and Saturdays & Sundays
- Business administration experience is a plus
- Comfortable working in a dog-friendly environment
Important Note: Artisan MRKT is dog-friendly. Our resident supervisor, Tico the Corgi (aka “the boss”), makes regular appearances and may require occasional belly rubs as part of your duties.

Availability Required
Candidates must be available for weekday shifts from Tuesday - Friday during one or more of the following time blocks:
- 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM, or
- 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM
In addition, availability is required for:
- Weekday Mornings(11:00-2:00PM) ,Weekday evenings(2:00pm-6PM)
- Saturdays & Sundays
Flexibility across these shifts is essential to support store operations and customer/member needs.
